new month, new gears?!

Grabe, ang bilis talaga ng summer na 'to. I just retired my planner and bought a new one for the next school year. Wow. August na, feeling ko wala pa akong nagagawa...or at least academically, wala pa! Work wise, iba yun. My students just left last Friday and they're back at their hometowns getting ready to start school at their respective universities. At least kahit papaano, may na-accomplish parin ako for the summer...key term there of course is "at least". It may not seem like a big task, but being the coordinator for the SUROP program kept my summer busy! Super proud naman daw ako sa accomplishments at presentations nila. They truly did a great job during the finale. Hay, nakahinga rin ako after Friday! Right now, at least 2 of them are sure about applying to K-State for grad school. Mission accomplished!

Sigh...ano ba yan. I need new gears. Kelangan ko na talaga baguhin ang mind-set ko. My co-adviser is back and I'm sure he expects to see progress sa research ko. My other adviser asked me how my research is going, sagot ko naman..."Oh, it's going. I don't know where, but it's going!" Somehow I'm not sure that's gonna fly with my other mentor. Grabe na 'to.

Tomorrow, I will start setting my schedule everyday...giving myself daily targets (the way I used to). Seeing it down on paper is just more effective. Seeing it marked off --done!--is a great feeling. I browse through my old planner and realize that June and July were rather empty...not for the lack of things to do, definitely...just the lack of drive to do much of anything besides actual work.

Reality check...August na...note to self: GET MOVING!

Easier said than done.

Omygosh ako din! When you said, "just the lack of drive to do much of anything besides actual work," teka lang, ako to this last 2 months a! Buti na lang nakalipat na kong apartment and 3/4 through the unpacking and redecorating so that's done...I can move on to more important things. Good luck to us!
