this time last year

I can't believe it has been a whole year since...

  • I spent time with my best friends. Gladys and I email-ala-chat with Nadine, Kitty, and Ann almost everyday. The last time I was hanging out with the latter three, Gladys called us from the States just to be "there" with us. One of these days, Gladys and I should call them three-way when they are out at Figarro having coffee:)

  • I heard my cousin, Ems, sing. I swear that girl is so talented. Of course it made it even better with the rest of Six Days to Friday adding the zing to her soulful voice. I do miss you guys. This time last year, y'all were pigging out on my pesto and salsa! Big hi to Bong, Alf, and Jeff. Thank you for the great soundtrack to the most memorable day of my life:)

  • I saw Gully and Isid. Next time we hang out, it's definitely not going to be at the pathetic excuse for an Italian bistro place...sheeesh...it's so bad, I can't even remember the name. That's too bad, I would have told everyone NOT to eat there! We should've gone to the Country Club!

  • I had a full blown total hair spa treatment:) Ah, the joys of having your hair relaxed,hot-oiled, and styled...your scalp massaged...etc, etc...and all for under $50.

  • I spent time with my little sister, Anna. I was amazed at how much she "evolved" into such a stunning young lady. I always have this picture of her as an 11 year old and it's hard to align that with the babe she's become:) Same thing goes for my cousins Raymond and Philip (in the pic with my brother). The last time I hung out with them, they were barely out of high school and now Raymond's done with college and Phil's got two lovely daughters. My two weeks home was way too short. We had so much to catch up on. I'm just glad we at least got to do something fun while I was home.

  • I spent time with my FAMILY. I loved just sitting around the dinner table talking to my Mom and Dad. If there's one thing that I really miss about living at home, it's being able to just share my day with them. Good, bad, happy, sad, indifferent, frustrating, blah!...whatever! I think my relationship with my parents has shaped a lot of who and what I am today. I definitely get my optimism and goal-orientedness from them. That was the last time I saw my brother, too. It was pretty cool that when my friends and I went out to the bars, he paid for everything:) And it was funnier still that it was actually my friends who drove him home when he had a little too much to drink already:) hahahaha

  • And of course, the most important thing of all...This time last year, I exchanged the most important words with the most important person in my life:) This time last year, I married my best(est) friend. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, SWEETS. I LOVE YOU!
