of berry bomb smoothies and rejuvenated brain cells

Sitting in a quaint cafe, enjoying the funky jazz music, chilling out thanks to the air conditioner (it's more than 90F outside!), sipping my berry bomb smoothie, and working on my dissertation...doesn't that sound like the perfect evening? NOT! hahaha. I suppose it could be worse. I could be sitting in my warm, empty office...staring at the walls and thinking, "What am I still doing here?! It's supposed to be the first official day of summer vacation!" hahaha. For grad students, the luxury of taking a vacation is a myth! A myth, I tell you.

I'm taking a small break. I've actually got quite a bit done since I got here. I've finished the revisions on the drafts that I have right now. At least I have something for our Wednesday research meeting! hahaha. To think, it's only Monday! I still have quite a ways to go, though. But at the very least, I have the corrections done :)

In any case, I'm glad I decided to come to the cafe instead of getting claustrophobic in my office. At least here, with the constant flux of people, I don't feel too anti-social-- a tad nerdy perhaps, but then again, that I'm used to:) There are several grad-student-looking people here with their lap tops and mountains of articles so it's not too bad:) I blend in.

I am rejuvenated knowing that I AM NOT ALONE! hahahahaha...
