Rawrrrrrrrrr! This is the first time that I ever flew with Delta...and I'm quite sure that after this series of trips that I booked with them, I'm probably never going to fly with them again. For starters, my flight got delayed....which I suppose was not completely under their control due to the inclement weather. So at that point, I was pretty patient still.
I landed in Atlanta at 9:25 p.m., then ran (and I mean sprinted) across the freaking airport to get to my 9:49 connecting to Baltimore. Dengit. And Atlanta isn't exactly a small airport! I was the last person on the plane--got there as they were closing the doors. So I was feeling pretty thankful that I at least made it to the flight.
Got to Baltimore...waited around the baggage claim for close to an hour...and both my bags DIDN'T make it. Actually, a whole [long] line of people didn't get their luggage. I guess my bags didn't run as fast and didn't make the plane. Dengit x 2. What irked me is that the people at the SERVICE counter weren't exactly the most service-oriented people I've met. I understand it's been a long night, or whatnot, but still...they could at least apologize for losing your luggage! One or two, I could understand...but more than 25 people from my flight were in that line! The guy in front of me said that this is the second trip in 3 weeks that Delta lost his luggage. When I got to the counter, it seemed like they were used to processing complaints of this nature and that lost luggage wasn't out of the ordinary. So I asked and she pretty much confirmed that..."I don't know what's wrong with the system, but it seems to be happening a lot." Yeah, great news...thanks for the info. Would've liked to know that before I booked my flight...
The positive thing is...if I left a day late, I'd be stuck in some airport since so many flights are getting cancelled/delayed due to the weather. So, I guess the comforts of my sister's house beats being stuck at the airport. Gotta be thankful for that, at least!
So now, I'm stuck at my sister's without any of my own clothes. Great start to my vacation, huh? Hope it starts picking up!
So much for my rant of the day!
